A really lovely story. Well done to Stephen Ferrett

Traditional stort telling of a high standard. A very fine and charming debut from first time author Stephen Ferrett, kept my youngest amused and interested. Looking out for the sequel!

Endingen Mole is so imaginative, a world so fleshed out you can’t help but imagine yourself there as you read. The characters are unique and each have their quirks, all contributing value to the overarching plot which keeps you guessing. Endingen Mole is taken (quite literally) under the wing of friends he meets along the way of his journey for answers- and the result is a heart-warming tale – but with still enough trials and tribulations to give it an edge. Perfect both for kids, and for adults who appreciate a moment away from reality!

Endingen is a beautifully realized protagonist cautious, thoughtful, and deeply shaped by solitude. His journey aboveground is not driven by grand ambition, but by curiosity, memory, and a growing sense that something essential has been withheld from him. The discovery of the hidden map feels less like a plot device and more like an awakening, setting the tone for a story about reclaiming one’s past and choosing one’s future.

The world Endingen encounters is rich with character. Each creature he meets adds texture and meaning, reflecting different responses to power, fear, kindness, and self-interest. The looming presence of Hillfoot House and Julius introduces a compelling contrast: a villain who relies not on magic, but on manipulation and control a reminder that the most dangerous forces are often the most subtle.

Endingen Mole was such a pleasure to read with my toddler. I also had the pleasure of meeting Steve in Stonehaven, and it was a really lovely experience. The story is really sweet, and the characters are truly captivating. My child was hooked from the start and really enjoyed following along. It made our reading time cozy, fun, and special. A lovely book that we’ll happily read again!

I finished this book in one sitting last night! (And that's not something I manage often)!

I got swept away with the adventure and couldn't put it down!

Encountering so many intriguing and interesting characters along the way, this tale focuses on resilience, determination, courage and the importance of friendship. It also contains subtle hints and tips throughout, on how best to calmly handle yourself in difficult situations transferable to many life encounters.

A real fun & feel-good tale with just enough suspense for my Sunday night brain lol

Approx age 7yrs - 99 and anywhere in between. Also suitable for reading aloud to younger children.

Acquired a copy at the authors craft stall and found it to be hugely enjoyable, a good follow up to Endigen Mole, and which the older children will love!!

Was lucky enough to buy a pre release from the authors stall at a winter market. Bran White Raven moves the story on at break neck speed and introduces some exciting new characters, such as Bog Witch (dont mess with her), Aura and Gordayah the sage which creates a mythical element. The Set pieces such as the Generals last hurrah are very filmic in style and you can imagine it all playing out on sscreen. Lots of moral lessons and moving speeches which are a lovely for children and young adults. There's even a comedy scene with the Hoglets...'strike one'!! Highly recommend that when reading along with children you look at the website too as it helps bring it all to life. Looking forward to the continuing story.

Really enjoyed this book, I felt as though I was there with the mole and his friends and was almost in happy tears towards the end, excellent read. And I am an 82 year old.

What an excellent book, I couldn't put it down, Stephen has a magical imagination, my kids love Endingen mole's adventures and who he meets on his travels. We can't wait for the next book 😊

Lovely book for the age group but also thoroughly enjoyed it as an apparently fully functioning adult. Enchanting story and a lyrical writing style...could see this as a Christmas TV animation (check out the website to see the cute animation which a TV production company should jump on). Looking forward to the next book and my colleagues with children are already talking about it as a great bedtime read. 

Excellent book, for the very young to the older readers, I really enjoyed the adventures of cute little Endingen Mole, Stephen D. Ferrett has a brilliant imagination, it is a book that can be read and read again, I hope there are more books in the pipeline by this author :-)
