Stephen D. Ferrett

Stephen D. Ferrett (Steve) started his reading journey way back in the 1970s (yes, he is that old ), he soon began a long appreciation of the works of Beatrix Potter and Kenneth Grahame (Wind in the Willows) A.A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh).  As he got older, Steve read in wonderment The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings – J.R.R.Tolkien and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

The way these incredibly talented authors created such incredible worlds full of adventure and magic inspired Steve to create the Endingen Mole series.

One day in Switzerland in 2015, Steve was out with his family on a walk in Switzerland where they lived and following a quick intervention when his young Daughter Leyna had a tantrum, he knew that his storytelling abilities seemed to work and turn a tantum into a wonderful Father and Daughter story sharing time.

Steve’s children encouraged him to write Endingen Mole based on the stories he told about the plentiful and incredibly diverse wildlife found in rural Switzerland.  This developed into present day, now set in the north of Scotland, the series has a second book Bran-White Raven due to be published in January 2026.

Endingen Mole and all your favourite characters will return for the next series instalment in late 2026.
