Reviews for Endingen Mole and Bran — White Raven

  • Endingen Mole is a gentle yet quietly powerful tale of discovery, courage, and identity. Stephen D. Ferrett crafts a classic-feeling adventure that balances warmth and wonder with subtle emotional depth, following one unlikely hero as he steps beyond the boundaries of the life he’s always known.

Endingen is a beautifully realized protagonist cautious, thoughtful, and deeply shaped by solitude. His journey aboveground is not driven by grand ambition, but by curiosity, memory, and a growing sense that something essential has been withheld from him. The discovery of the hidden map feels less like a plot device and more like an awakening, setting the tone for a story about reclaiming one’s past and choosing one’s future.

The world Endingen encounters is rich with character. Each creature he meets adds texture and meaning, reflecting different responses to power, fear, kindness, and self-interest. The looming presence of Hillfoot House and Julius introduces a compelling contrast: a villain who relies not on magic, but on manipulation and control a reminder that the most dangerous forces are often the most subtle.

What makes Endingen Mole especially effective is its restraint. The story trusts its reader, allowing themes of inheritance, autonomy, and quiet bravery to unfold naturally. This is a book that feels timeless equally suited to younger readers discovering adventure stories for the first time and adult readers drawn to allegorical, character-driven fiction.

A thoughtful, atmospheric read for fans of gentle fantasy, animal-led adventures, and stories about finding the courage to step into the unknown.
